Help with HP printer?
My hp printer all-in-one PSC 2175 started printing really slow. I checked the settings and everything was fine, I even put it to print as "fast draft" and it was still very dreadfully slow. So I changed the ink cartridges with new, original hp cartridges and cleaned the media sensor with a q-tip and water. Now, not only does it still print slow, but when it goes to align the new ink cartridges, it says that the paper is too narrow. The paper is the same paper I've always used, the standard 8.5 x 11. I tried taking out the ink cartridges and re-putting them three times already, in case I had not put them correctly, but no luck. I am able to print things out but is very slow, like I said, and the alignment problem does not go away. What should I do?
To fix the alignment problem for you do this
Please follow exactly and IN ORDER.
1. Turn off the printer and wait 10 seconds. Turn it on again
2. Let the printer print the test page.
3. After the test page is printed, disconnect the USB cable connecting the printer to your computer. DO NOT turn off the printer while disconnecting the USB cable.
4. Place the test page on the scanner glass and press the SCAN button on the printer. The ON light will flash as the page is being scanned.
5. Remove the test page when the ON light is steady.
6. Finally, turn off the printer and wait another 10 seconds. Then turn it on again. No more printing test pages! Yay!
(You may now reconnect the printer to your computer via the USB cable.)
