Sally beauty supply bleaching kit?
my hair is medium brown, dying it mahogany brown with blonde under my bang and one streak on each side of my head. I want to achieve a light blonde, not orange, platinum. Which would be the best bleaching kit? And what developer, 20, 30, or 40? And no im not going to salon, and yes i do know that it damages your hair. thannkks. I want an even color blonde throughout. Any tips are good
If you're going to dye it mahogany brown first it's going to be challenging for you to get a pale blonde, Bleach has to lift the color you put onto it. The color underneath the mahogany has a red-orange base. If you want the result to be cool you have to get passed this level primarily. Getting passed it will take the longest. You can do 20 volume to be safe. 30 volume will do it a little quicker. Do not leave it on for more than hour. Adding heat speeds it up. Don't ever do 40. The only difference between the developers are there strengths. 30 and 40 work the fastest and the longer any of them are left on the hair the more drying and damaging they can be. Another factor is how fine, medium, or coarse your hair is. Fine hair is more fragile and can't withstand as much as the other hair types. Do not try to do the highlights and the color at the same time unless you have help to rinse them out separately, otherwise they can turn pink from the runoff water of the mahogany dye. Rinse thoroughly and then wash it. Use cool water to close the cuticle and the make the color last longer. Doing this will also help minimize the highlighted area from absorbing the runoff dye also. Do a good conditioning treatment afterwards. And use a leave in conditioner. Any chemical like bleach, color, perms, and relaxers take moisture out of the hair. You'll need to put that moisture back into it. It will make it less likely to break off this way. Hope it works out for you.
