I'm having trouble with jump rings...?
I'm using large square jump rings to make a charm bracelet, well the space doesn't close all the way and the charms are slipping off. I tried squeezing them together with pliers but it still leaves space. How do I fix it? Would jeweler's glue make it stay?
Twist the rings slightly so the two ends will slide past each other. Now squeeze with pliers enough that the ends slip just barely past each other - when they spring back a little, they'll probably be meeting pretty closely. Now, twist the rings so the cut ends line up again.
Btw, a lot of people think that the proper way to open a jump ring is to spread it, which can cause the kind of problem you're having. The correct way to open them is to twist the 2 cut ends away from each other just enough to attach, then twist them back together. The jumpring stays much tighter, then.
Hope this works for you. Good luck!
