I'm having a hard time finding a place in Canada that I can legally purchase some sort of replica "wild west" pistol for my gunslinger costume. I don't want silly little toy guns, nor do I want an actual real firearm.

What I do want is the gun to look real, hang properly with the proper weight etc. and to have that solid look to it. What I'm after is something along the lines of either a replica pistol or a blackpowder pistol from the civil war era. My understanding is the black powder pistols are legal to own and are used by civil war re-enactors ( I could be mistaken, if I am then I want to know what the re-enactors use ).

If I lived in the US it would not be a problem finding this type of prop but here in Canada our gun laws are ridiculous and I don't want to break the law. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
