Will my amp damage my headphones?
Hi, I've just bought some fairly expensive headphones and I was wondering if I could plug them into my guitar amp without damaging them. They have an adaptor kind of thing so it will fit in the "external speaker" jack but I noticed something about impedance/ohmage/ohms.
My headphones are apparently 63 ohms at 1khz and the external speaker jack on the amp says 8-16 ohms. Other jacks that would fit are "Hi" and "Lo" (but I think these are just for input) an FX lineout and a footswitch jack. I doubt these would work but thought I might mention it anyways.
Thx
OK thanks. Its a shame but I'll just have to leave it then.
Don't plug the headphones into the external speaker output, in that way you can damage both amp and headphones. Some amps have headphone output, apparently you isn't one of them
