AR-15 field strip problem.?
I was cleaning the buffer tube (with the buffer and spring removed) and when finished I replaced the bolt carrier and charging handle, closed the body and replaced the body pin. I then pulled the charging handle...to find that I had not replaced the buffer/spring.
Now the bolt carrier is stuck back in the buffer tube: I have tried shaking the rifle, using the forward assist, I can't reach it with pliers and the buffer tube won't unscrew...
Help!!!
its frustrating as hell but I had this same thing happen to me a while back. what has happened is the bolt assembly has went back past your hammer and is stuck back due to the hammer. what you need to do is use a screwdriver to push the hammer down and tilt the gun forward and the bolt carrier should slide back down. after you get it back in position, take it apart and assemble it correctly.
