i need help setting up my tattoo machine...?
ok,first and foremost, i am a complete amateur who is trying to get my feet wet and after some research,I have complete respect for this art and understand I shouldn't attempt an actual tattoo without years of experience under my belt...
that said, i've invested some money and i am prepared to learn how to become a tattoo artist. this isnt just a hobby im interested in but something much more. i have the complete basic tattoo machine and i intend on only practicing on my practice skin and fruit skins for awhile.
ok my real question is can somebody post a link,pics,explain how the cord from my electricity source is supposed to connect to my tattoo machine,notice that im not calling it a gun...i've scoured youtube but cant find any videos showing the wiring setup. i havnt opened any of my gear for fears of setting it up wrong and possibly electrocuting myself. please help
You should have a power supply that you plug into your walls AC outlet. From that to your gun is going to be either a clip cord or a RCA cord. Most machines are clip cords. 1 end will have a 1/4 inch headphone plug on it the other will have a clip that has 2 "L" shaped ends on it with a spring between the ends. The phone plug goes into your power supply then you take the L shaped ends you insert one in your rear binding post the other goes into the rear deck. This can vary a little depending on the exact machine and binding post set up but they all work off the same principle. Exactly what machine do you have? Then I can probably give you more specifics.
