If i am doing a valve job on my 1990 miata, what size of c clamp valve spring adapter will work?
I wasn't sure if this tool would work. I can't find the sizes anywhere.

I HAVE taken the head off of the block.
That'll work, your spring diameters are 1.1" and 1.3". http://books.google.com/books?id=gLAC3QNW7YwC&pg=PA90&lpg=PA90&dq=miata+%22valve+springs%22+diameter&source=web&ots=Sr6oGoZIYG&sig=FnYBTBpTGENog_1jtAkA4bRmHwQ If anything you want the adapter too small then too big. If it's too big it won't fit into the spring pockets.
You can try to get one a Autozone but last time I checked they only had a OHV (over head valve) tool. These only work if the springs sit higher than the valve cover rail like on V8's.
