Is it ok to to put a juvenile Chinese water dragon in a big cage?
My water dragon is 1.5 months old and about 8 inches long. I have him in a little 22 gallon tank right now... But I also got a big 4 by 2 by 5 foot cage for him. Wondering if theres anything wrong with moving him into that already...
As long as you can keep the enclosure warm enough, I don't see why you shouldn't/couldn't put him in it now. And as long as he won't escape from it. He'll enjoy the extra space to run and explore. As to what someone said about him getting hurt by a fall, it would have to land on it's head to be hurt by a fall in that tank. I have a leopard lizard that jumps off of my couch, my shoulder and falls a good 5 feet and isn't hurt, my bearded dragon jumps off the couch or table and almost lands on his head and gets up and runs off like nothing happened. Lizards are very hardy and can usually take a fall, if they don't immediately get up or get up and start walking funny, then you worry.
