Plymouth Breeze engine misfire?
Hi, just had some major work done on my 97 plymouth breeze. Timing belt, water pump, machined head, replaced cam, new plugs, wires, coils. Now when driving my car it misses under 30mph. The mechanic checked my fuel pump and everything else he could think of. He ran a computer test and it said cylinder 1 is misfiring. Mechanic said it may be due to the head being just machined and some sticking may occur until its worn in. He said to drive the car and if the problem is still there in two days to bring it back. Now tonight the check engine light came on! I really can afford to put much more into this car, do you think my mechanic could be right about the head needing to be worn in or do you see something else being the problem? Thanx in advance!
If the engine was not misfiring before you had the work done to it, and now it misfires, I'd say your mechanic not you has a problem.
Take it back, since the problem has not gone away and see what they offer to do next. We all make mistakes once in awhile.
