Tattoo Ink Pigment
connection between alergy to red tattoo ink and alergy to shellfish?
there is a rare alergy that some people have to red tattoo ink known as the "red reaction". it is my understanding that the red pigment is made from a kind of crustation. i have always wondered if there was a connection between the two. as a tattoo artist i run into this so rarely and i just recently had this idea. has anyone here had the "red reaction"?
The responses are incorrect on many accounts. Just because you read it on the Internet does not make it true.
Most metal allergies, by the way, have to do with nickel and are not related to tattoo ink allergies at all.
Red tattoo ink is not make from shell fish and I will leave it at that. I cannot possibly give a color class on this forum.

Hand Mehndi
Henna disaster - fix my mehndi? Why did it turn out wrong?
First time I ever made a mehndi on my hand.
Henna was fresh and prepared well.
Kept it on for over 4 hours, spraying with a mix of lemon juice and sugar.
my fingers and knuckles turned brownish, my palms are a beautiful rich red and my arm has a barely visible tint.
The tattoo design looks nice, but the horrible differences of color make it look dirty.
When I scraped off the henna, it went really easily off my palm and fingers, but it took forever to get all off my arm. "Crumbles" were well stuck to the skin. I had to oil it thoroughly afterwards, because the blunt knife didn't work anymore.
What went wrong? So I don't repeat my mistake...
Too much sugar?
How do I fix it now?
sounds fairly normal to me.
here is more info for you though.

henna stains different body parts differently , as you have now experienced.

Laser Tattoo Removal
Does anyone know how effective the non-laser tattoo removal works such as "tattoo erase"?
If anyone has any experience of the technique mentioned above, ie; warnings, horror stories or just general "go aheads", could you let me know? I don't mean the laser removal.
I don't know personally or anything, but I've heard from others as a fact that those creams, lotions, etc do not work. For example, someone said that Wrecking Balm and all the others just fade enough of the work, but there is still a noticeable marking left. Just be careful because I don't think they work like you would want them to. It may be a better idea to just use cover-up makeup.
